Chat Room Rules
The FreeBingo chat rooms are an opportunity for you to meet other bingo players from all over the world. Enjoy them, but use them responsibly. Here are our guidelines to chat room etiquette:
RESPECT YOUR ROOMIES: Please do not swear or use threatening or abusive language to other players. All we expect is that players are polite to one another. If you haven't got anything nice to say they just don't say it! :)
RESPECT OUR CHAT HOSTS: Our team are all volunteers and are there to help as best they can, and to host a variety of fun games. Please do not complain if you don't win during a chat game event, as you may cause offence.
RESPECT OUR WEBSITE: Please do not complain about FreeBingo or promote other websites in the bingo rooms. Our advertisers pay the running costs of the site and donate the prizes which means it is 100% free for you, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. :)
Tips for chatting
- Try not to give out personal information (eg. your address, tel no, bank details) in a chat room if you can. If you wish to exchange email addresses or telephone numbers with friends, try to do so via private messaging.
- Please do not assume that because a player does not or cannot respond to chat, that they are being rude. The web is a global community and many people are not comfortable chatting. Some players may have chat switched off, they may be muted or they may have a technical problem that is preventing them from chatting.
- Please do not make other players feel bad about being on a winning streak. Like a real bingo hall, players have good and bad runs of luck and it is unfair to the winner. Instead, use the WD quick click to congratulate your fellow player.
- Chat is an 'inclusive experience'. Therefore chat should not be worded in any way as to exclude anyone else from the conversation. Examples of such chat include, but are not limited to, speaking in 'code' and speaking in any language other than English.
- Please have respect for the Chat Host's authority. Due to varying internet speeds, the order of chat they see on their screens may not match your own. If you do not win a chat game, please understand they can only judge such games based on the order they see. If you have any problems with chat games and winners, contact the site manager . Please do not argue with the chat hosts in the bingo rooms as this may cause offence.
- Messages posted to chat are solely the opinion and responsibility of the person posting the message. FreeBingo.co.uk is not responsible for messages left by individuals who are not members of staff.
- For full guidelines on chat, visit FreeBingo.co.uk's Chat Terms of Service (Terms and Conditions section 13).
Player Arguments
FreeBingo is on the whole a happy, friendly and welcoming online bingo community, but as with any community there may be disagreements between players from time to time. We do not want our bingo rooms to be the venue for personal arguments, so if things get out of hand our chat hosts are authorised to mute players for 24 - 48 hours if they are spoiling the fun for the other roomies. We are all adults and we expect our players to resolve their differences in a respectful manner.
Please do not engage in a negative, abusive or racist conversation. If you encounter a player who is causing you problems, please place that person on ignore by selecting their name from the player list and clicking on it once. Click again if you wish to un-ignore. Chat can also be switched on / off in the majority of rooms.
If a player is muted, they will need to contact the site manager to have their chat ability restored on the following working day. If the incident is deemed serious enough, players may be muted for a longer period of time, or banned from the website, depending on the circumstances. Therefore the best thing to avoid this punishment is to keep your chat friendly and enjoy the bingo games.
Asking for help
If you encounter a player who is breaking any of our chat rules outlined above, or witness anything you think we should know about, please contact us
noting the time, date, room and players involved. We keep records of all the chat and can look back at what has been said and take appropriate action if deemed necessary.
